Gemini image models and Nano Banana naming
Gemini is the general name for the product or model series while names like Nano Banana describe models that do image generation. There are several Nano Banana models like the original that uses Gemini 2.5 Flash Image, Nano Banana Pro, Nano Banana 2, Nano Banana 2 Lite and Nano Banana 2.1 among other options. We have the Nano Banana model list where all of them are described with unique identifiers at the moment.
Use the full image export
Take a clean copy of the image directly from Gemini and not a screenshot from the conversation. The direct download will make you have good material for visual comparison and the first check with the detector. It should not be edited in any way or form from the others.
Process and compare
Upload any PNG, JPG and WebP under the existing limit. Press start to start processing and wait for the comparison view window to pop up. Shift the divider over areas such as faces, details, texts and background to have a good review.
Visible marks and invisible signals
Visible trademark or copyright marks can be in the content while SynthID is a signal. Covering, removing visible marks is not a way to claim anything regarding an invisible one. The SynthID feature is not included in our image tool so you can only check it in another software on the file itself.
Check edited images too
A picture that has been resized or modified is yet another instance for the testing process. Keep the inputs and outputs identical for any comparison to be fair and make sure a successful detection does not always mean an easy detection next time around.
Free trial and ongoing use
There is no price for the first test image. It is a free option without need for a credit card for users. Users using shared WiFi share a free allocation for testing images as well. If you need a regular image checking service choose a Starter plan for 100 monthly credits or Grow for 1,000.
Gemini-generated images versus edited uploads
There are differences between a picture edited and generated from a text prompt in Gemini. Always take a proper export from the conversation and not take a screenshot for testing purposes. Process your image properly and compare the same elements in the result of downloading.
